A Shopify store guide

Keep the design consistent across your store.

Review the pages customers use and the updates your team makes.

01

Compare the main shopping pages.

Open the homepage and a collection page, followed by a product and the cart. Check whether the same type and button styles appear throughout. Look for sudden changes in image treatment or language.

Try this on your store

Place screenshots of the four pages beside each other. Mark any change in style without a useful reason.

02

Follow one shopping task.

Choose a task such as finding a gift within a price limit. Use the navigation and filters to select a product. Continue into the cart and note any repeated backtracking.

Try this on your store

Ask someone unfamiliar with the store to complete one shopping task. Watch where they hesitate.

03

Check how your team makes updates.

Try adding a product or changing a campaign section. The layout should still hold together after routine edits. Repeated workarounds are worth reviewing before the next redesign.

Try this on your store

List the last three updates your team struggled to make. Note whether each problem affects one page or the whole store.
